St. Luke’s sponsors an African orphan, Riita Biira, through the Bishop Masereka Christian Foundation (www.bmcf.org). Rita studies at the Namalere Girls Secondary School in Kampala, Uganda in the Senior Three class.
St. Luke’s contributes to local charities such as soup kitchens, the Salvation Army, and Our Sisters’ Place. We also send donations to international charities such as Episcopal Relief and Development (www.er-d.org) and the New Sudan Education Initiative (www.nesei.org), an effort to build secondary schools in South Sudan.
